The Longeron family has been welcoming guests to Maljasset since 1969 and at Auberge de la Cure since 1986.

The Gîte

Auberge de la Cure is a short or long stay guest house in the Haute-Ubaye, located in the hamlet of Maljasset.
The guest house was founded in 1986 by Michel and Marie-Rose Longeron, and then taken over in 2007 by their son Hubert and his Australian wife Klytë, who continue the tradition of a warm welcome in the mountains in both winter and summer.

The hamlet of Maljasset

Located deep in the Maurin Valley, at 1900 metres altitude, Maljasset is on the banks of the Ubaye River in a flat valley worn by glaciers long gone. This hamlet is a starting point for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, snowshoeing or winter skiing (cross-country and tour skiing). Maljasset offers a majestic setting as a basis for these activities; it is also a renowned stage of the Alpine Crossing and ski tours.

The Ubaye Valley

Located in the north of the Alps de Haute Provence, wedged between the Queyras, the Mercantour Park and Italy, the Ubaye Valley receives an exceptional amount of sunshine (at least 300 days / year), and snow that the ski resorts are testament to (Pra-Loup, Vars-Risoul, Sainte-Anne -La Condamine, Sauze and Super-Sauze).

Hiking for all ages and all levels

An important stage of the GR5, Maljasset is located on the Via Alpina, on the tour of the Ubaye or Upper Piedmont, on the tour of the Queyras, or less long, the tour of the Font-Sancte. Many day hikes also radiate around Maljasset.

Rock Climbing

The Maurin valley is a mecca for climbing, with peaks such as the Aiguille Pierre-André or the Aiguilles de Chambeyron and many routes of all difficulties in the Aiguille Large, La Tête du Sanglier or the Rochers Rouges, the Péouvoux, etc. An abundance of choice that probably warrants more stays!

Mountain Biking

A unique place for mountain biking, the valley of Maurin is particularly renowned for its cross-border routes for experienced mountain bikers.

Ski tour skiing

With an international reputation, Maljasset is at the start of many ski tours (tour of the Aiguille Large, Font-Sancte, Col Mary, Marinet, Longet valley ...) which allows varying levels within the same groups to stay at the same guest house.

Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing

The valley floor offers the perfect setting for many snowshoeing trails and a cross-country ski track of about 6 km.
